Feng Shui shows up in our life as luck.
Sometimes the luck runs with us, sometimes against us. Some people are lucky, others are not. Sometimes we can improve our luck by using Feng Shui.

So we've devised this quiz to help you assess the degree to which Feng Shui can help you improve your luck.

Within Feng Shui there are three different aspects of our luck - Heaven Luck, Earth
Luck and Personal Luck.

We've arranged the quiz in three sections - one for each type of luck.
In each section we've included an introduction to that aspect of our luck, followed by questions to help you assess the likelihood that Feng Shui can be used to improve it.

For each question you can get more information by "clicking" the button to the left of the question. Click the check box on the right to answer "Yes"

Heaven Luck

Heaven Luck is calculated by mapping out where the planets and stars are when we are born because this determines how that cosmic chi effects us.

Similar calculations can be used on buildings. Where the planets and stars are in the sky when certain key aspects of a building are created (e.g. when the foundations are laid), will create a resonance in relation to the Feng Shui of that building. These aspects of the Feng Shui will then have a powerful effect on the people who live and work in that building. Some of the aspects are beneficial, and this is experienced by things in life falling into place, going with the flow as it were. And that’s exactly what it is, the cosmic chi flowing harmoniously into our life. But when the chi is out of sync because of bad Feng Shui, this will create illness, decay and life becomes hard work! A bit like trying to swim up stream, against the flow.

As the planets and stars move on their celestial course around the heavens, they also effect our lives in many different ways as the cycles change. Some cycles are very long, only changing every few thousand years. Others are much shorter, changing every two hours.

In Feng Shui we use some of these cycles to help chart these celestial influences. The most common is the San Yuen cycle which is associated with earth chi movement. This cycle is 180 years long and changes every twenty years, 1984, 2004 and so on. Another is the Yuen Hom cycle, which is associated with the much more powerful heaven chi movement. It also is 180 years long and changes roughly every 20-25 years, as it is variable. It last changed in 1996 and we have noticed that peoples lives changed dramatically in 1996. It will next change in 2017.

A way to detect if a cyclical influence is causing a problem is to notice if something suddenly isn’t working so well in your life, even though everything is the same.( If your life changed in some way like a house move, change of career, building alteration - internally or externally, this would be another aspect of Feng Shui.) So if you were living your life in the same way as always and something suddenly went wrong, it may be a cyclical time aspect of the Feng Shui.

Earth Luck

Earth Luck is calculated by charting the chi as it flows around a building. Where the door is positioned structurally and directionally will effect the Feng Shui even to the smallest degree. The direction that the chi flows down the street and into our front door can have an influence in our life. Again this influence can be anything from brilliant to terrible. By repositioning the door, an adverse influence can be changed into a better one.

The interaction between the chi coming into a room, where the door is positioned and the colour of the decorations and furnishings in a room can vary from a room feeling energized, to a room feeling drained. So clever use of colour can help to harmonize our environment. By similar calculations it is possible to work out where the good areas in a room are to enhance wealth, career and many other aspects of our life.

Clutter.

If there is clutter, this is an indication that the chi isn’t flowing as it should. As our outer world reflects our inner world there could be many reason for this stuckness. The problem may be anything from an underground stream, to a room decorated in the wrong colour. Feng Shui is like detective work, but as always, when you find the root cause of a problem it can usually be fixed. If you think of the yin/yang cycle, clutter has the quality of yin energy from slow moving to stuckness. Think what it feels like in the middle of the night in the middle of the winter. To balance this energy we need to introduce more yang energy in some way.

Stress.

Stress energy is the opposite end of the scale. This is energy that is moving too fast. It has the quality of expansive yang energy. This energy will reflect as feeling stressed all the time, unable to relax, it seems as if there is not enough hours in a day. This type of energy needs to slowed down in some way by introducing yin energy and there are many ways to do this.

So a very simple why of looking at balancing earth chi is to think of a pair of scales, with yin on one side of the scale and yang on the other. The idea is to balance the energy in the middle. When you have the middle ground the energy will flow harmoniously and so will our lives.

Personal Luck

Personal Luck is the energy that moves around the body.

When this energy is flowing easily around the body we feel positive, happy and energized. As we work to unblock stuck energy, our personal luck starts to improve.

It is possible to change this luck by working on ourselves, by clearing negative thought patterns, releasing stuck emotion which we store in our organs (e.g. anger is stored in the liver, sadness and depression in the lungs, hate and impatience in the heart, worry in the stomach and fear in the kidneys) and generally looking after our body,

As you can imagine this is a whole subject in itself and we're just touching it briefly here.

Feng Shui is a bit like detective work, when things go wrong in our lives it is necessary to find which of the three lucks are out of balance in order to get to the root of the problem.

Sometimes if we are really stuck in our life more than one luck may be out of balance.
